NELFUND Urges Tertiary Institutions to Upload Students’ Data

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has directed all accredited tertiary institutions to update and upload student records on its Students Verification Portal ahead of the 2025/2026 academic session.

In a statement on Thursday in Abuja, NELFUND’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, said the exercise covers both returning and newly admitted students and aims to ensure a seamless verification and loan application process once the portal opens.

She stressed that only students whose details have been uploaded and verified through their institutions will be eligible to apply for the education loan.

Oluwatuyi urged schools to designate officers to handle the uploads in line with technical guidelines, emphasising the need for accuracy and timeliness. “NELFUND values the cooperation of tertiary institutions in expanding access to higher education for all eligible Nigerian students,” she said.
