Hanat Alli, a 22-year-old Muslimah, has been recognised as the second-best graduating student from the Department of Nursing Science at Lead City University, Ibadan, for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The recognition was presented at the induction and oath-taking ceremony held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Adeline Hall, Lead City University, marking a significant milestone in her nursing school journey. “I am Hanat Alli, a newly registered nurse from Lead City University, Ibadan,” she introduced herself, while speaking with Muslim News, on Friday, July 18, noting that her department falls under the Faculty of Basic Medical and Applied Sciences and runs a five-year academic programme.

Hanat Alli began her academic journey at Ummul Qura Group of Schools in Ibadan, where she received both her primary and secondary education. Her consistent academic excellence and dedication culminated in the award she received during her class’s induction ceremony. Reflecting on the achievement, she said, “I felt grateful to my Rabb (God) and to everyone who contributed to my journey through nursing school.”

When asked why she chose nursing, Hanat explained that her passion drove it: “To further my interest in the healthcare profession.” Her journey was marked by discipline, faith, and a supportive community. “I prayed, trusted Allah (SWT), studied, asked seniors for guidance, and spent time with myself and my friends. I also had a study group,” she said.

Beyond academics, Hanat was actively involved in campus life. “Yes, there is a very active MSSN (Muslim Students Society of Nigeria) in my school,” she noted. Additionally, she served as the Deputy Senate President of the Nigerian Universities Nursing Students Association (NUNSA) at the Lead City University chapter during the 2023/2024 academic session. “I plan to progress in my career. I am really excited about what the future holds. May Allah preserve us all upon khayr,” she concluded.
