Nigerian Students Contribute to STEM Participation Increase

Statistics have shown that Nigerian students contribute to the increase in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Optional Practical Training (OPT) participation in the United States.

The STEM OPT has recorded the participation of 165,000 international students, with Nigerians being a top contributor.

Through U.S. education, these Nigerian students can access real-world industries.  It was also revealed that students tend to focus more on STEM majors, such as computer science, data science, and engineering. About 118,000 students study computer science, while 82,000 study computer and information sciences. Business analytics is now the 16th most popular major under business-focused skills.
