Otti Offers Jobs toEx-Corps Members

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has granted automatic employment to nine indigenes of the state who recently received the National Presidential Honours Award for exceptional service during their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year.

The awardees, led by the State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Gladys Adama, were received at Government House, Umuahia, on Tuesday. Governor Otti, in a symbolic move, temporarily lifted the embargo on recruitment to enable their immediate absorption into the state civil service.

“You are leaving here with a token. However, beyond that, I am lifting the embargo on employment to give you automatic jobs, unless any of you declines,” Otti said. He directed the Head of Service to issue appointment letters without further screening, with resumption expected from Monday.

The governor praised the honourees for distinguishing themselves in different states during their service, urging them to sustain their standard of excellence. Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Chinomso Nwogu expressed gratitude, pledging their commitment to serve the state diligently.

The new employees include Nwogu, Promise Anyanwu, Ezieme Uba, Ezinne Emmanuel, Grace Abia, Chiemela Nwafike, Dr Mark Ugwa, Miracle Eke, and James Chukwuebuka.
