Parents of students at Admiralty University of Nigeria (AUN), Delta State, have voiced frustration over the school’s decision to restrict hostel spaces for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement signed by its PRO, Makut Alfred Mashat, the university said only freshers (100-level and direct entry) and final-year students would be prioritised for hostel allocation. Students in 200, 300, and 400-level courses, including Law students, were advised to seek off-campus accommodation. The school attributed the shortage to rising student numbers and infrastructural limitations.
The development has become a significant source of concern to parents, especially those residing outside of Delta State, who worry about the financial and security implications of off-campus housing. Many said they would now be forced to secure private accommodation in Ibusa or Ogwashi-Uku, with additional transport costs.
One parent from Anambra, who spoke anonymously, lamented that the school even closed its WhatsApp forum to block complaints, leaving families unsettled about their children’s safety.
