Students at the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Umuagwo, are thrilled because new solar street lights have brightened up their campus. The lights were provided through a partnership between the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Imo State Government. They now shine from the school gate to the Senate building, classrooms, and hostels.
Thanks to the lights, students can move around safely at night and study or relax after dark. In a video that spread quickly online, many students thanked the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Chiedozie Eze, for caring about their well-being. Prof. Eze thanked Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and the NDDC for their support. He promised to keep working hard to make the university a world-class institution. He also encouraged the public to choose UAES, stating that all its courses are accredited and the staff are committed to providing quality education.
