Education experts and community leaders are calling on the private sector to support free education for poor children in Nigeria. This call was made during the 2025 graduation of the Not Forgotten Initiative (NFI) School in Abuja.
At the event, Mr. George Ehusani from the Lux Terra Leadership Foundation praised the NFI’s work and said more grassroots efforts like it are needed. He stressed that government support alone is not enough. Ade Adedotuho, who is a supporter of the NFI project, explained that education is the key to lifting children out of poverty. At the same time, guest speaker Funke Abegunde described NFI’s curriculum as “world-class,” highlighting its focus on problem-solving, technology, and character development.
Parents at the event thanked the school’s founder, Tosin Adeniyi, for helping families who cannot afford school fees. Adeniyi, in turn, appreciated NFI’s partners for believing in the future of every child. Stakeholders agreed that more private support can help close education gaps.
