The Commissioner for Finance in Taraba State, Sarah Enoch Adi, has been linked to an alleged impersonation case during the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) examinations.
A video published online showed examination supervisors questioning a woman identified as Leavitt Felix, who admitted to sitting the test under Adi’s name. Records confirmed Adi was the registered candidate.
Felix initially claimed to work with the Ministry of Finance, mirroring Adi’s profile, but later alleged she had been hired by a man known only as Joshua. She denied any direct connection to the Commissioner. Officials warned the case could be referred to the police if she failed to provide full details.
The development adds to ongoing controversies surrounding Adi. In August, civil servants called for her dismissal alongside the Accountant General, Gauis Danjuma, following a biometric verification exercise that removed over 7,000 workers from the state’s payroll, sparking protests and strikes.
ICAN has yet to comment publicly on the impersonation case, but examination supervisors indicated the matter may be escalated to law enforcement.
