The University of Ibadan (UI) has encouraged prospective students to take advantage of its Open Distance eLearning (ODel) programme as an alternative route to gaining admission.
In a statement by the Director of the UI Distance Learning Centre (DLC), Professor Babatunde Omobowale, the university announced a special screening and verification exercise for Post-UTME candidates who switched their mode of study to ODel.
He explained that the initiative offers a chance for qualified candidates who could not secure admission through JAMB or those unable to pursue regular on-campus studies to still study at Nigeria’s premier university.
According to him, applicants are required to keep their records up to date. They can choose either online verification via their portal or physical verification at the UIDLC Administrative Building, located along Sasa-Ajibode Road in Ibadan.
The university noted that interactive sessions for admitted candidates will begin immediately, urging students nationwide to seize the opportunity.
