The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Kayode Adebowale, has promised that the university will continue to support its partnership with the Pan African University Life and Earth Sciences Institute (PAULESI). He made this known during a courtesy visit by the new PAULESI Director, Professor Mubo Sonibare.
The Vice-Chancellor congratulated Prof. Sonibare on her appointment and praised her for following proper protocol. He explained that PAULESI is a key project of the African Union aimed at promoting science and technology across Africa. UI had competed and won the bid to host the West African branch of the institute.
Professor Adebowale assured that UI will assist with facility expansion and better conditions for foreign students. In response, Prof. Sonibare, who is from UI’s Faculty of Pharmacy, said PAULESI helps African countries find homegrown solutions to their problems and has boosted UI’s global standing. Both parties agreed to strengthen their collaboration further.
