The headmaster and security guard of UBE Primary School, Low Cost, Gusau, have been arrested following reports of vandalism and theft of school property.
The Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Professor Nasir Garba Anka, ordered the arrest of individuals during an unscheduled visit to the school, where he discovered that several items, including desks, chairs, and window frames, had been stolen or destroyed.
Professor Anka described the incident as an act of negligence and said those found responsible would face sanctions. He expressed deep concern over the destruction, warning that the government would not tolerate any form of carelessness or sabotage capable of undermining its efforts to improve basic education.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to protecting public assets and ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment across all schools in Zamfara State.
