Fujian Jiangxia University, China, is planning to collaborate with Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Edo State, to provide an avenue for knowledge exchange across various sectors, including education, culture, science, and technology.
While receiving the Chinese delegates led by Mr Ling Qzdan, the university president, at the Edo Government House in Benin, Governor Monday Okpebholo expressed his excitement about the visit. Okpebholo mentioned that his administration had long expected such a partnership with a country like China for capacity development and transfer of sustainable knowledge.
He stated, “Learning is a lifelong pursuit, and the transfer of knowledge is central to our administration’s vision for transformation.” He added that China would benefit from its rich culture, just as the state would benefit from its technological advancements.
Qzdan explained that the delegates visited the governor to ensure cooperation and solidify positive ties between the two tertiary institutions in terms of education, scientific research, culture, and technology.
“We believe that through joint initiatives and leadership dialogue, we can significantly deepen collaboration and foster academic excellence. We are here to seek meaningful cooperation with Edo State’s educational sector and to promote mutual learning and understanding between our people”, he said.
Dr Paddy Iyamu, Commissioner for Education in the state, stated that the partnership will serve as a strategic milestone that will transform Edo’s education system.
