Prof Rasaki Olufemi Kareem has been appointed as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Crescent University, Abeokuta.
This was an announcement by the Registrar, Barr. Zakariyya Ademola Ajibola, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, during the Senate meeting held on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
A Professor of Resource and Development Economics, Kareem joined the institution in 2009 as Lecturer II and rose through the ranks to become a professor in 2022. He has served in multiple leadership roles, including Dean of Students’ Affairs, Chairman of the Admissions Committee, and Acting Dean of the College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences.
Renowned for his academic excellence, Kareem has supervised over 70 undergraduate and 20 postgraduate projects and has published more than 70 research papers in local and international journals. According to the AD Scientific Index, his works have been cited over 900 times globally. Members of the university community have since congratulated him on his appointment, describing it as well-deserved.
