A student of the Federal University, Lafia, has died following a motorcycle crash near the campus. The victim, identified as Ifeoma Blessings Nweke, was struck by a tricycle on August 13 while crossing the road with friends close to the university gate.
The tricycle, driven by Fedelis Zakka of Obi Local Government Area, was transporting passengers when it hit the student. She was taken first to the university clinic and later transferred to the National Hospital in Abuja, where she died while receiving treatment.
Police in Lafia confirmed that the rider had been arrested and the motorcycle impounded. An investigation into the incident is underway.
