FUDMA Matriculates 1,000 Beneficiaries of Barau’s Scholarship

The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, on Monday matriculated 1,000 beneficiaries of the undergraduate scholarship programme sponsored by Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin.

The event, held at the university campus in Dutsin-Ma, drew dignitaries including the Managing Director of the North West Development Commission (NWDC), Professor Abdullahi Shehu Maaji; the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Senate President, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdallah; and Hajiya Yardada Maikano Bichi, Special Adviser on Women Affairs, among others.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Barau’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, said the initiative reflected the lawmaker’s enduring commitment to expanding educational access for youths in Kano State and across Nigeria.

The Deputy Senate President, represented by his Chief of Staff, expressed appreciation to FUDMA’s management, led by Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Aminu Ado, for their support of the programme’s success.

Beyond undergraduate beneficiaries, the scholarship also supports students in their studies, both locally and internationally, with 70 currently pursuing postgraduate degrees abroad.

In recognition of his contributions to education and youth development, the National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS), FUDMA chapter, honoured Senator Barau with an award of excellence.
