150 Alumni Presidents to Convene in Bauchi Over Varsity Funding Crisis

At least 150 alumni presidents from Nigerian universities will gather in Bauchi State from October 2 to 5, 2025, to discuss the worsening funding challenges in the country’s higher education sector.

The conference, themed “Bridging the Gap: Alumni-Driven Solutions for Sustainable University Funding,” is being organised by the Association of Nigerian Universities Alumni (ANUA).

According to a statement signed by ANUA’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaihun Maccido, the meeting will focus on fostering strategic partnerships, sharing innovative insights, and exploring alumni-led solutions to sustain the university system.

National Chairman of ANUA, Professor Yakubu Ochefu, will host the gathering and lead a key session titled “Rethinking the Nigerian University System: The View from the Alumni.”
