The Governing Council of the Federal University Otuoke (FUO), Bayelsa State, has appointed Dr Kayode Gboyega Oyeniran (CLN) as the substantive University Librarian after a competitive selection process.
Dr Oyeniran, who previously served in an acting capacity for over a year, was confirmed following his outstanding performance and administrative achievements. During his tenure as Acting Librarian, he introduced reforms that improved cataloguing, research access, and digital resource development within the university library.
A seasoned academic, Oyeniran holds a PhD in Library and Information Science from Delta State University, Abraka, an MLIS from the University of Ibadan, and a B.Sc. in Library and Information Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Before joining FUO, he worked at the Kenneth Dike Library, University of Ibadan, where he gained extensive experience in library automation and service delivery.
