JAMB Denies Suspending Candidate’s Profile

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has denied reports claiming it suspended the profile of a candidate, Monsuru Aduragbemi, describing the allegation as deliberate misinformation.

In a statement on Sunday, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, said the board did not disobey any court order in a case involving the candidate and two universities, Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Lagos.

According to him, Aduragbemi was no longer affiliated with either institution as of September 25, 2025, when the case was filed, or September 30, when the court order was issued. He clarified that the alleged “suspension message” was a routine automated alert that appears when a candidate’s profile is locked to prevent unauthorised changes.

Benjamin added that both universities were also restricted from finalising their admission lists until the court order is lifted. He accused those behind the false report of trying to manipulate public opinion and pressure the board into breaking the law.
