The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has officially commenced its 2025/2026 academic session, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye welcoming both newly admitted and returning students.
In a statement, Prof. Lafiaji-Okuneye congratulated new students on their admission and urged returning students to approach the session with renewed focus. She emphasised that the university is committed to providing an enabling environment for academic excellence, professional development, and moral integrity.
Highlighting the importance of discipline and character, the Vice-Chancellor warned against cultism, drug abuse, examination malpractice, and other forms of indiscipline. She encouraged students to take full advantage of LASUED’s modern facilities, digital learning platforms, and support services to enhance their learning experience.
Prof. Lafiaji-Okuneye also called on students to be good ambassadors of the university, stressing that personal conduct, respect, and cooperation are as vital as academic achievement. She urged them to balance their studies with extracurricular engagement and to cultivate critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that the new academic session would be productive and peaceful, concluding: “We are LASUED — We are UNIQUE and PROFESSIONAL.”
