Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, led by Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Shedrack Best, visited the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) in Abuja to discuss research partnerships and collaboration.
Professor Best informed IHVN CEO Dr Patrick Dakum that PLASU has a Faculty of Health Sciences, offering programmes in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, and Public Health. The university also plans to start a Medical Sciences program in the next academic session. PLASU requested assistance with research, student training, and possibly donating or equipping a lab to enhance their research work.
Dr Dakum welcomed the partnership and said, despite some funding challenges, IHVN is eager to support PLASU. He promised technical help, shared programmes, joint research grants, and training opportunities. This visit demonstrates PLASU’s commitment to expanding its research and providing more opportunities for staff and students while collaborating with a leading health institute.
