Rivers State University (RSU) has dismissed a social media report claiming that the institution will resume the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, October 6.
In a statement issued on Thursday, September 25, and signed by the Registrar, Mrs Ibimonia B. S. Harry, the university described the report as false and misleading.
RSU said it had not authorised any announcement regarding resumption and urged students and the public to disregard the publication. The institution emphasised that it operates strictly in line with its approved academic calendar.
“The University Management wishes to categorically state that the said publication is false, misleading, and not authorised by the University,” the Registrar said.
She added that official information on academic activities will only be released through the university’s website or directly from the Registrar’s office.
