The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has assured students of a complete refund for fees paid before receiving the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) loans.

This assurance came as the university continues to process reimbursements following the arrival of the third tranche of NELFund loans.

According to Adejoke R. Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of Communication at UNILAG, the institution has already refunded students from the first two batches of the loan disbursement.

The third batch, received in late April, is currently being reviewed as the university collects and verifies students’ payment records to ensure accurate refunds.

UNILAG explained that refunds are handled only after a thorough reconciliation process with NELFund to avoid errors and ensure transparency.

The management addressed recent claims about delays in refund payments, clarifying that the university follows a standard procedure before releasing funds.

Students who paid their compulsory fees before receiving their loans can expect their refunds once the verification process is complete.

UNILAG reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability throughout the refund process.
