Honourable Dr Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, over the weekend, joined the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Oluwatosin Mariam Oloko, to officially commission a newly renovated block of classrooms at Ilewo Community High School, thanks to the generous donation of Chief Samuel Olawale Omosanwon Balogun of Ilewo Kingdom.
During the event held on Saturday, Hon. Dr Oyegbola-Sodipo extended his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Omosanwon Balogun for his unwavering commitment to enhancing educational facilities in the community. He urged residents to take ownership of the newly renovated building by ensuring it is well-maintained and secured for the benefit of future generations.
In his address, Hon. Dr Sodipo highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts in the development of Ogun State, echoing the clarion call made by His Excellency, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for collective contributions towards the state’s progress. He emphasised the importance of unity among community members, stating, “The pathway to development at scale and within a good time is when we all come together to offer a little here and a little there.”
Emphasising the need for peaceful coexistence in the Oke Ogun area, the Chairman highlighted efforts at making Oke Ogun the agricultural capital of Abeokuta North. Highlighting that the Agric Revolution plan, with a notable investor expressing interest in investing N500 million towards its realisation, will soon be taking off and that stakeholders must work together to promote and ensure peace in the area to achieve the ongoing investments in education, agriculture, and industrialisation. In conclusion, he congratulated HRM Oba Clement Kolawole Akinola Omosowon and all residents of Ilewo Kingdom, reaffirming his commitment to the community’s continued development.
