The Queen Amina College Old Students Association has praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for revoking the sale of the school’s staff quarters and other plots of land located within the school premises.
The commendation was in a letter dated May 6, 2025, signed by the Association’s Assistant Secretary, Rahila Ogiji. The letter, made available to journalists on Thursday, conveyed the group’s deep appreciation for the governor’s swift and decisive action.
The association noted that the move was a strong step toward preserving the integrity of the school’s property and described it as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to providing a secure and enabling environment for teaching and learning.
The statement read in part, “We write to convey our heartfelt appreciation to Your Excellency for your prompt and decisive intervention in revoking the sales of Queen Amina College staff quarters and other plots of land within our esteemed alma mater.
“By protecting the integrity of school properties, you have reaffirmed the priority your administration places on creating a safe, secure, and conducive environment for teaching and learning.”
The association further noted that the revocation helps preserve the legacy of Queen Amina College — one of the state’s foremost girls’ schools — and strengthens the administration’s dedication to human capital development through education.
Sani had, on April 22, 2025, announced the revocation of all sales of institutional houses and land allocations within legacy schools, including Queen Amina College, Alhudahuda College, Zaria, and Government Commercial College, Zaria.
The association described the governor’s action as a bold statement supporting quality education and protecting school infrastructure.
It added that safeguarding learning environments is crucial to the sustained growth and development of education and society at large.
