The American University of Nigeria (AUN) has started a new programme called English as a Second Language (ESL). This programme helps students who do not speak English well, especially international students. Nigerian students can also join to improve their English and get a certificate. The ESL programme has two levels: Basic and Advanced. The Basic level teaches simple speaking and writing for everyday use and school work. The Advanced level helps students speak and write better for school and work. Students join the level that fits their English skills.
The programme lasts two semesters and gives six credit hours. Experts led by Dr Agatha designed the lessons to meet high standards and help all students. Many international students are already in the ESL programme, and more are expected to join soon at AUN.
