The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) has commenced training 10,000 workers from Nigerian universities and polytechnics to enhance digital literacy and promote ICT adoption in teaching and research.
The nationwide programme, launched under the 2025 Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI), kicked off on Monday in four centres: University of Ilesa, Osun State; Nigeria Army University, Biu, Borno State; Rivers State School of Nursing Sciences and Management Technology, Port Harcourt; and Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
According to DBI, about 100 staff from 100 institutions will be trained, with full sponsorship from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s drive to equip workers with digital skills for improved efficiency.
Speaking at the opening in Ilesa, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu described the programme as a strong collaboration between government and academia to enhance technological proficiency and prepare Nigerian institutions for global competitiveness.
