The Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) have announced a significant breakthrough in the local production of advanced security equipment under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking in Abuja, NASENI Executive Vice Chairman, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said a state-of-the-art facility jointly established with the DSS is now producing high-tech equipment designed to enhance intelligence gathering and strengthen national security.
Halilu noted that the collaboration aligns with President Tinubu’s vision of promoting self-reliance among Nigeria’s security agencies and reducing dependence on imported technology.
He added that both agencies have trained local experts to manufacture the equipment, while specific details remain classified for security reasons. According to Halilu, the partnership leverages NASENI’s engineering expertise to deliver innovation tailored to Nigeria’s security needs.
He said the initiative marks a significant step toward positioning Nigeria as a regional leader in security technology manufacturing, with long-term benefits for national stability and economic growth.
