The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Area, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has distributed free General Certificate of Education (GCE) forms to 200 indigent students. The distribution, held at the council secretariat in Ita-Marun, aims to support students preparing for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.
Animashaun said the initiative was designed to ease financial burdens on parents and to promote education in the community. She urged the beneficiaries to remain focused on their academics, describing education as the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities.
“This gesture is about building the future of Epe. By investing in our youth, we are nurturing greatness and raising champions who will stand tall among their peers across Nigeria and beyond,” she said.
Parents and students expressed gratitude, calling the intervention a timely relief amid economic hardship. Observers noted that the programme aligns with Animashaun’s broader efforts in youth empowerment and community development.
The council chairman urged the students to avoid distractions, shun violence, and embrace patriotism as they prepare for their examinations.
