Kingsley Otuaro, former Deputy Governor of Delta State, has applauded the remarkable feat achieved by students from the state at the prestigious World Schools Debate Championship held in Doha, Qatar.
Otuaro described the victory as a shining testament to the transformative power of education. “This is not just a win for Delta State; it is a resounding statement that quality education shapes confident and articulate leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
He commended the students, Wisdom Chukwuma, Otorvo Uyoyou, Abraham Honour, Ekhamateh Splendour, and Alika Daniel, who emerged champions at the global debate contest, having defeated teams from the United States and the host country, Qatar, to seal the title with a 5–1 aggregate score. Otuaro also applauded the efforts of the teachers and families whose steadfast support nurtured the students’ skills, noting that such successes flourish in an environment where education is truly valued.
The ex-deputy governor also extended warm commendation to the government of Delta State and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, acknowledging that such success is only possible in an environment where education is genuinely prioritised.
