The Federal Government of Nigeria has constituted a governing council for the Federal College of Agriculture and Technology, Nabanje, Katsina State.
Professor Suwaiba Ahmad, Minister of State for Education, stated that the newly established college exists to promote agricultural education, innovation, and national development. She revealed this at the council’s inauguration on Tuesday, Jun. 17, 2025, in Abuja.
According to Ahmad, the council members were selected based on a track record of national service, commitment to development, and leadership. Addressing the council members, she said, “Your appointment is not just an honour, but a call to serve our country through transformational leadership in education and agriculture. This institution is strategically positioned to contribute to Nigeria’s drive for food security, youth employment, and sustainable economic growth.”
Professor Oluwagbemi Tai, the council chairman, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu and the Ministry of Education for facilitating the establishment of the college.
