The Federal Ministry of Education, with support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has launched a nationwide Training of Trainers (ToT) programme, aimed at enhancing school safety and climate resilience in Nigeria.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday by the Education Specialist at UNICEF, Mr Believe Eke. Eke said that the training was in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and other key stakeholders. He said that the initiative followed the national launch of three critical handbooks designed to address pressing challenges in the education sector.
According to him, the handbooks are the Climate Change Education Handbook, the Early Warning Guide and the Managing School-Related Violence Handbook. He said that the programme was intended to move these handbooks from policy to practice in classrooms nationwide.
