FUNAAB, Sets Up Two New ICT Offices to Improve Services

Mr Olasunkanmi Olajide

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has established two new offices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its ICT operations.

The decision was made during a special meeting of the school’s Governing Council on Thursday, May 1, 2025. The meeting followed a report from a committee that examined how the university can improve its operations. After discussing the report, the Council agreed to establish the two new ICT offices. This was made known in a press release signed by Mr Olasunkanmi Olajide on June 11, 2025

The new offices are called the Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS) and the Directorate of Information Communication and Technology Services (DICTS). They will replace and improve the work of the old ICTREC office.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, has appointed Professor Olusegun Folorunso as the head of DACIS and Mr. Temitope Soretire as the Acting Director of DICTS. Both of them started work on June 10, 2025. The university hopes that these new offices will help manage data more effectively, provide faster ICT services, and support FUNAAB’s goal to become more digital, like other top universities worldwide.
