The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) will host a series of workshops as part of the 2025 Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Programme (CADFP), following the arrival of two visiting scholars from Virginia State University, Professors Richard Omotoye and Laban Rutto.
The workshops, aimed at enhancing academic and stakeholder engagement, would focus on thematic areas including farm business profitability, curriculum benchmarking, and indigenous farming practices. The workshops were organised under the prestigious 2025 Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Programme, reflecting FUNAAB’s commitment to deepening collaboration with African diaspora scholars to advance agricultural education and practice in Nigeria.
The series began with a workshop on Farm Business Profitability Improvement Practices at the Postgraduate School Auditorium, FUNAAB, followed by a Programme-to-Programme Curriculum Benchmarking session between FUNAAB and VSU on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Red Chamber at 9:00 a.m. (hybrid). The Knowledge Sharing on Nigerian Home-Grown Indigenous Farm Practices would take place on July 23, 2025, at 1:00 a.m. (hybrid).
In addition, a Vocational/Hands-on Training on Greenhouse Urban Agriculture Practices & Management is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2025, at COLPLANT Lecture Hall, FUNAAB, by 9:00 a.m. (in-person). The series would conclude with a Stakeholder Workshop on Mobilising Nigerian Agriculture Industry Stakeholders into a Partnership Framework for Repositioning the Agriculture Industry on Monday, July 29, 2025, at CEADESE New Lecture Hall by 9:00 a.m. (hybrid).
