The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has been ranked the 11th best University in Nigeria in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the 2026 assessment year.
In a recent statement, the University said the ranking represents an improvement from last year, when it placed 12th among Nigerian institutions.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, described the achievement as proof of FUOYE’s commitment to research, innovation, and strategic growth. “This advancement reflects the collective hard work and dedication of our staff and faculty members,” he said.
The university management also expressed confidence in the leadership of its Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), whose direction, it said, continues to inspire stability and academic progress.
FUOYE reaffirmed its goal of becoming one of Africa’s leading universities, pledging to sustain transparency, peace, and steady academic growth.
The management also cautioned a former staff member against making what it described as false or inciting statements that could undermine the institution’s progress.
