The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has partnered with Learnpally Education to expand digital learning across Africa.
Under the new agreement, FUTA will pilot two online certificate programmes: Data Analysis with Excel and a Professional Certificate in Cybersecurity, covering fundamentals, frameworks, governance, and ethics. The courses will be certified by FUTA and open to students and professionals across the continent. FUTA students and alumni will also enjoy discounts of up to 70 per cent.
FUTA Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, said the partnership supports the university’s mission to advance technology-driven education and equip learners with industry-ready skills. Learnpally CEO, Aboluwarin Olaoluwa Kitan David, described the deal as a milestone in making African universities globally competitive.
The details of the collaboration between the two organisations include revenue sharing, with FUTA earning from the courses while Learnpally provides technology, marketing, and certification support. The initiative aims to position Nigeria as a leading player in digital education and make top-quality university courses accessible worldwide.
