Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has pledged to safeguard and support members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state for their one-year national service.
Speaking through his deputy, Aminu Gumel, at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members on Friday in Fanisau, Dutse, the governor stated that the administration would prioritise their security and welfare.
“The government is committed to providing you with all necessary support to ensure your stay in Jigawa is safe and comfortable,” Gumel said, urging the corps members to embrace the year as an opportunity to contribute to national development.
The state NYSC Coordinator, Jidda Dawud, confirmed that 2,000 graduates had been deployed for the current batch. He warned them to uphold discipline and adhere to NYSC rules, stressing the importance of hard work and responsibility in their assignments.
Justice Amina Dahiru, representing the state’s Chief Judge, administered the oath of allegiance during the ceremony, which government officials, security chiefs and traditional rulers attended.
Dawud said corps members would be posted to communities across the state to support education, health sensitisation and other development projects.
