Alhaji (Dr) Haruna Makoda, Kano State Commissioner of Education, has urged the current administration to focus more on empowering teachers, as they play a crucial role in education development. He disclosed this at the launch of the sensitisation programme for enhancing quality education within the state.
Makoda highlighted the Kano governor’s continued effort in improving access to education for Kano residents. According to him, the governor allocated 29.7% of the budget to the education sector in 2024, but increased it to 31.5% in 2025. He also revealed plans to improve teachers’ competence with contemporary teaching strategies.
