A landlord in the Igando area of Lagos is on the run after threatening to kill a female student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG). The 300-level student shared a video of the threat on TikTok, where the landlord was heard saying he would “kill” her and use ₦500,000 to cover up the crime.
The student stated that she had refused his advances and had previously reported harassment. She revealed the landlord refused to fix a faulty socket in her room and insisted she charge her phone at his place, where he later made inappropriate moves. “He texts me at night and even knocks on my door asking me to come chill with him,” she said. Police confirmed that she reported the case and that officers from the Igando Division are searching for the suspect. Lagos Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin assured the public that the landlord would be found and prosecuted.
