Lagos State Cooperative College (LASCOCO) is gearing up for its second convocation, where 153 students will graduate.
The ceremony, which begins today, May 12, and runs through Wednesday, May 14, marks another milestone for the institution.
At a press briefing held over the weekend at the college’s campus in Agege, Provost Mr Akorede Ojomu reflected on the college’s journey since its first convocation in 2022, describing its growth as driven by resilience, commitment, and a pursuit of academic excellence.
Ojomu expressed deep appreciation for the support of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whose leadership and vision have been key in the institution’s advancement.
He also acknowledged the dedication of the Governing Council and the college’s staff for their continuous hard work.
Once focused on short-term training for cooperatives, LASCOCO has evolved into a state-recognised higher institution, significantly contributing to the development of a skilled workforce in line with Lagos State’s THEMES+ agenda.
Recently, the college received full accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to award National Diplomas in Microfinance and Enterprise Development and Cooperative Economics and Management, with an interim accreditation in Computer Science.
