LASU Opens Admission Into Portuguese Programmes

The Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the opening of applications for its Portuguese programmes under the Centre for Afro-Brazilian Studies (LASUCAS).

According to the university, the programme is designed to prepare candidates for the CELPE-Bras examination, which qualifies students for scholarships offered by the Government of Brazil. The scholarship programmes cover various undergraduate and postgraduate courses across Brazilian universities.

To qualify, applicants must meet specific requirements. For undergraduate scholarships, candidates must have a minimum of five credits in WAEC/SSCE and be between 17 and 23 years old. For postgraduate scholarships, applicants must hold at least a Second Class Lower degree.

The programme runs for six months and offers a diploma in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies, which can also lead to admission into LASU’s degree course in Portuguese/English.

LASU encouraged interested candidates to apply, describing the programme as a unique opportunity for Nigerians to access international education through Brazil’s scholarship scheme.
