Neemat Leads Transformation at FCT Education Centre

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Education Resource Centre (ERC), which was established as a unit under the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in 1982, has evolved into a strategic academic support hub serving both schools and the general public across Abuja.

As the academic engine of the FCT Education Secretariat, the ERC provides a comprehensive range of services aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of education in the territory. Its vision focuses on delivering impactful academic support across early childhood, primary, and secondary education in both public and private sectors.

Under the leadership of Director Neemat, the ERC continues to fulfil its mission through teacher training, instructional material development, career guidance, community outreach, counselling services, entrepreneurship training, certification, and library development. Its model science laboratories, vocational skills centres, ICT facilities, and foreign language units reinforce its role as a multi-dimensional education provider. The ERC also engages parents, learners, and researchers through book fairs, counselling clinics, workshops, and out-of-school education services.

Notably, the centre acknowledges the critical role of the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, whose timely approvals and support have strengthened the institution’s operational capacity. His backing has helped ensure the ERC’s continued delivery of its mandate in enhancing education outcomes across the territory.
