Nigeria made an impressive mark at the 1st African School Games in Algeria, winning 25 medals across 10 sports. The event, held from July 26 to August 5, 2025, brought together over 3,000 young athletes from across Africa.
Students from Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) played a key role in the country’s success, securing four gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. Their performance contributed significantly to Nigeria’s total of six gold, 10 silver, and nine bronze medals. The school praised the young athletes for their dedication and hard work, noting that they had earned full scholarships and brought pride to both the institution and the nation. Organisers said the competition showcased the talent and potential of African youth, while NTIC expressed hope that the victory would inspire more students to embrace sports alongside academics.
