The Ondo State Government has postponed three SS2 promotion examination papers that were scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. This decision was made due to the public holiday declared by the Federal Government to mourn former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in a London hospital on Monday.
According to Olaoluwa Meshack, Head of Information at the Ministry of Education, the affected subjects are English Language, Commerce, and Woodwork. The government noted that these examinations will now take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Dr Akindele Ige, Administrative Secretary of the ministry, urged students across all public secondary schools in the state to use the extra time to prepare well for the rescheduled examinations. The government’s action is in line with national mourning activities and shows respect for the late former president. All schools have been directed to comply with the new date.
