Professor Cajetan Elochukwu Ilo has recently been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
The election took place at the Clinical Science Building in Nnewi, where Prof. Ilo won with 19 votes, defeating his opponent, Professor Ukaibe Solomon, who got 2 votes. A total of 21 people were accredited to vote. Prof. Ilo will now take over from the outgoing Dean, Professor Chiderah Okocha.
Speaking after the election, Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Carol Arinze-Umobi expressed pleasure with how the election was conducted. She also expressed hope that Prof. Ilo’s leadership will help move the Faculty to greater heights both academically and administratively. The Acting Registrar, Mr. Victor Modebelu, and the Provost of the College, Professor JKC Emejulu, accompanied Prof. Arinze-Umobi.
