Professor Jude Dunkwu, Appointed Visiting Professor at UI School of Business

The University of Ibadan School of Business (UISB) has appointed Professor Jude Dunkwu as a visiting professor. This is a proud moment for Professor Dunkwu, who graduated from the same university with a degree in Physics in 1995 and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations in 1998.

Professor Dunkwu is renowned worldwide for his research in online distance learning and strategic business management. He is a Fellow of the Centre for Online Distance Education (CODE) in the UK, which includes 44 top experts from different countries. He will help the university improve its online learning programmes.

Professor Dunkwu believes that Nigerian universities must capitalise on the growing use of online learning, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic has altered the way people learn. He holds two PhDs — one in Management and another in Education Management, which he earned from the University College London (UCL), a renowned institution in the field of education.

He also studied at the University of Cambridge, where he received a degree in Educational Leadership and a teaching certificate. He is a Fellow of several top UK organisations, including the Higher Education Academy and the Chartered Management Institute.

Professor Dunkwu has taught business management at several universities in the UK, such as Coventry University and Hult Business School. He also teaches Strategic Management in the University of London’s Global MBA programme and is researching how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance online learning. He even completed an AI course at the University of Oxford. Before becoming a professor, he worked in banking and manufacturing in Nigeria, including at FSB International Bank, Metropolitan Bank, and Mercedes-Benz ANAMMCO.

He has written and reviewed numerous research papers and business case studies on Africa and serves as the Managing Editor of Reflecting Digital Learning. He lives in London with his wife and four children.

The University of Ibadan is Nigeria’s oldest university and was formerly affiliated with the University of London. UISB is the first business school in a state-owned university to receive NUC accreditation.
