Soun Commissions Total Energies’ 12-Classroom Block

The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, has commissioned a modern 12-classroom complex, donated by Total Energies and its partners, to Ogbomoso Grammar School, the first of its kind in Oyo State.

The project, unveiled on September 4, includes four fully equipped science laboratories, an ICT centre, a library, administrative offices, a sickbay, and furnished classrooms. It also features a power supply and modern facilities to enhance teaching and learning.

Principal of the school, Dr Adewumi Tolani, praised the donors, noting the project would boost academic performance in the community. Oyo State’s Commissioner for Education, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, represented at the event, also commended the effort, saying it complements the government’s vision for quality education.

Total Energies’ Managing Director, Matthieu Bouyer, said the project was part of the company’s commitment to reducing out-of-school children and promoting science education in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The facility is expected to transform learning for students in Ogbomoso and beyond.
