Dairy Expert Blames Low Production on Poor Industry Structure

A Nigerian dairy expert has warned that structural weaknesses in the industry are the main reason for the country’s low milk production. Dr Ayoola John Shoyombojo, a reproductive biotechnologist at Landmark University, Kwara State, said Nigeria produces less than 600,000 metric tonnes of milk annually, far below the 1.6 million metric tonnes demanded by consumers.
