Tutor.ng: The Nigerian Website Making Learning Easy for Everyone

At a time when millions of Nigerians have adopted a digital lifestyle, a website called Tutor.ng is helping people in Nigeria learn new skills from their phones or computers. The digital platform was created to fix some of the problems in the Nigerian education system, where many students struggle to get quality learning.

Fehintolu Olaogun, one of the founders of Tutor.ng, explained that the platform was designed because many Nigerians cannot get the education they need in regular schools. Some even travel to other countries to pursue their studies. Tutor.ng brings learning right to their homes. On Tutor.ng, teachers and trainers can create online courses in different subjects. These include public speaking, starting a business, fashion design, computer programming, and academic subjects such as mathematics. Tutors choose their prices, and students pay to take the classes. Tutor.ng has simple tools that make learning easy. Teachers can use videos, write on whiteboards, share documents, and give quizzes. They can also talk to students during live classes.

One of the most popular lessons on the site is French. It helps people who want to visit or work in French-speaking countries. Tutor.ng began in January and already has more than 5,000 users. About 2,000 people use it often to attend classes. There is also a mobile app, allowing students to learn on the go from their phones. Although the cost of internet data remains a challenge for some, Tutor.ng is experiencing rapid growth. The team reviews every course to ensure it meets high-quality standards before students can take it. The plan is to offer trusted and approved courses to a broader audience across Africa soon.
