The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Prof Kayode Adebowale, has called on young academics to emulate the virtues of diligence, integrity, and reliability exemplified by Prof Olusola Ezekiel Ayoola, the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
Adebowale gave the charge while declaring open the 46th Annual Quantum Probability Conference (QP46) 2025, held in honour of Ayoola on his 70th birthday and retirement from the university.
The conference, held at the institution’s Digital Park, drew scholars from within and outside Nigeria, as well as members of Ayoola’s family.
Represented by the DVC (Administration), Prof Peter Olapegba, Adebowale described Ayoola as a community leader, intellectual giant, and dependable administrator.
“Professor Ayoola served the university, the Council, and the community diligently. He is reliable and honest. One can rest easy when he is given an assignment. I urge young scholars to emulate his virtues,” Adebowale said.
