UNILAG Investigates Lecturer Over Assault Claim

In the wake of recent allegations of sexual misconduct against one of its lecturers, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has said that it is investigating the incident.

The allegation was made against one Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, and his victim is a 20-year-old 300-level female student, who has already complained to the police station.

According to the report, the alleged incident took place on August 22, 2025, in the lecturer’s office, and the complaint was made six days after. She received medical attention at a nearby hospital following the incident.

UNILAG confirmed awareness of the allegation and said the matter has been reported to the police. The university’s Safeguarding Centre is providing support to the student, while a special panel has been set up to investigate.

Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of UNILAG Communication, assured that the investigation would be thorough and that findings would be communicated publicly. She encouraged all students and staff to report harassment or misconduct through designated university channels.
